14th (?) Annual Little Red River Rainbow Trout Roundup - 1/31/09

As you can see by the look on his face . . . one of Sam's proudest moments!! The fish (un-named, as yet) will be residing in a place of honor, along with the children & grandchildren. We're taking suggestions for a name for this 24.5 inch addition to the family!

Catching Up....

OK. I've tried to figure out how to write a paragraph to catch ya'll up on the life of George Taylor. In a couple of words: I can't. So, let's just start where we are now. The past will come up as time goes on; then I can explain.

I am re-married to the Phabulous Phyllis Cupp Taylor. (Yes, I spelled Phabulous right!!!) We wed 2/14/2000. (All you ladies can saw "Awwww. Valentine's Day!") This was shot shortly after the wedding on Jacksonville Beach, FL.

Phyllis is a life-long Chattanoogan. And up until last January, that is where we made our home. Now, we are in Long Beach, MS. (Long story, that one. I won't go into it now.)

Phyllis has a daughter named Jennifer. She and her husband (Nathan) live outside Nashville - raising a beautiful baby girl, Laurel. She'll be 2 in March. Nathan works as a designer for a company which makes play grounds. Jennifer takes care of the baby at home.

You all may be wondering about the miracle child, Joel. No longer a child - it's hard to believe that he's 26 - he married a wonderful young lady last May named Melissa. They met at church in Chattanooga. Now they are living in our house in Chattanooga. Joel is working for the post office in the short term. (The center where he is working is closing sometime this spring.) Melissa is in school for massage therapy and working full time as a receptionist for an attorney. Both of them are ministering the to youth at the Brainerd Church of Christ. (This is what Joel really wants to do with his life. So, if anyone knows of a youth ministry position open... )

I am working for the IRS - yes, that's the only IRS. I've been there for over 5 years. I started out in collection; now I'm working with taxpayers at a walk-in center in Gulfport, MS. Lot's of people contact; same set of problems over and over and over. I can't pay, etc.

Phyllis is working in the front office of an optometrist. Stays busy.

Together, we are teaching the teens (all 7 of them) at Gulfport Church of Christ. Great group of younger kids. But, they have a lot to learn.

Ok, that's the beginning. Look forward to hearing from ya'll!

Mountain Home, AR Retreat

Here is a little taste of the beautiful country in northern Arkansas! Who can identify the mystery golfer chauffering Mr. Greene around the course? And the third picture highlights the type of contests that are devised when old men and scotch get together.

Lisa . . . a bunch of us volunteered for the Zodiac Ball (cancer benefit) at the Peabody and Al Green was the entertainment. I couldn't help but think of you when he sang "Love & Happiness". He's going to do "Live at the Garden" on July 21st. It's an outside concert at the Botanic Garden . . . it's a lot of fun and you can bring your own picnic - cheese, wine, etc. Hot!!!!! but a lot of fun.

EVERYBODY - Think about it . . . Dave Greene's birthday is on the 5th, Randy Herndon's birthday is on Friday the 20th, Claire Greene leaves for Ecuador on that Saturday the 21st and then, my birthday is on the 25th. Save the date and maybe we can make it happen and celebrate that weekend !!

Love you, Karen
